    Noob Questions

Hi I have a Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX700. Can anyone comment if this plugin will be able turn on/off this Tele and change inputs.
The plugin finds it but there is no remote button. Where do I go from here pls or does this mean that this Television is not supported?

    BRAVIA KDL-40EX700XX.X.X.X00000000-0000-1010-8000-5442494386F2Player?

I do not have that TV, so I do not know about the Plug In. Another alternative is to get a Logitech Harmony Hub to operate your AV device. The Harmony Hub receives an RF signal from either the Companion, Elite, or Ultimate remotes and then sends out an IR signal to your AV components from the Hub and also from the two 2.5mm plug ports on the back of the hub for the Hub mini IR blaster. The companion remote & hub come with 1 mini blaster and the Ultimate/Elite comes with 2 mini blasters. Amazon

Thanks wizard of oz. yes I have the Harmony ultimate. Whilst it's pretty good it's not 100% bullet proof. It has crashed on me a few times and has required a power cycle.

Homeseer store has some IR devices. Search the store for IR.
Global Cache device and IR blasters

Could you post a screen shot of the config page (all of it) and then click on "view UPNP devices" and capture that screen shot.

Do you see errors in your log when you add the device? (remove it and add again) with PI debug flag on (NOT superdebug).

What version of the PI did you try it with?

What OS are you running this PI on?

When you use the SONY remote app, does that work? How do you register it (does it give a pop-up with PIN#)?

What vintage is this model? Is it new or a few years old?

          Dirk

Sorry doesn't look good. Best (perhaps only) option is to use an IR Blaster PI. It does appear that you can use the PI to play content on the TV from your Plex Server.

I appreciate you looking into it Dirk anyway. You give better support than some of the paid Plugins!
