    Doorbell help?

I currently live in an apartment and have this shitty doorbell (see below)
    Imgur Link

I have no idea how a doorbell works or which wire does what, but basically does anyone know how I could possibly put a device (maybe a z-wave device) to trigger when the doorbell is pressed? Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

Considering the wiring and lack of real circuitry I would expect that there is some sort of master controller somewhere in the building rather than any intelligence in the unit itself.

I've found this which seems to be the wiring http://www.leedan.com/Pacific_AF3600_Diagram.jpg so it would appear the SIG input is the response to the button press, if you were comfortable you could probably wire a relay or some opto isolator in series to be able to provide you with some sort of notification of the button press. However the people who own your building might have their own views if you start modifying their intercom system!

Lucky for me none of it works, the only thing that (barely) works is the doorbell at my apartment door, the button to open the building door and intercom system no longer work as the system has been disabled and replaced with new system that when a person dials the apartment number at the building entrance, it will call my cell phone and I can open the door by pressing the number 9 on my cellphone keypad and I can also communicate by talking through the phone.

Sooooo..... I know you probably already answered this in your post, but what devices specifically would I need?

Also would this work in my situation:

      ?

      Thank you again in advance.

If you are not comfortable with messing with the wiring on this doorbell, here are some ideas for wireless solutions:

Use a 433Mhz wireless doorbell like the 1byone Easy Chime https://www.amazon.com/1byone-Wirele.../dp/B00RCSU0WQ with the RFXcom receiver https://shop.homeseer.com/products/r...nt=26767527110 and the RFXcom HS3 plugin https://shop.homeseer.com/products/r...nt=22753466118 to alert HS3

Use the Fibaro Zwave Button https://www.amazon.com/Fibaro-FGPB-1.../dp/B01MG99GNM . The operating temp on this is 32-104F, so, may not work based on your location.

Use the Flic Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) button. There is no HS3 integration on this AFAIK but it does support IFTTT etc. https://flic.io/

I am more than comfortable with messing around with the wiring. I want to learn how to do it.
