Speaker App fails

I upgraded to build 1955 after I had to repair my XP installation. Now the spealer app will not load at all - I get an unrecoverable error:

Process ID = 0xce8 (3304)
Thread ID = 0xc6e (3180)

No speech at all.

Help!?

Does the native XP speech work when selecting start > control panel > speech > text to speech?

Did you use the full upgrade or the "over write" upgrade? If you didn't use the full install then reinstall your current HS install and then reinstall using the full 1955 install.

Turns out it was Media Player causing the problem. When I reinstalled XP, something happened to MP. I reinstalled version 10 from the web & now everything is OK.
