    I also have my X10 device connected with a serial port - the one built into the PC.
    I swapped this for the relay and now all 4 work!
    As you say it appears to be an issue with USB converters.

      Chris,

      I'd like to give this a try as well if you don't mind. I'm new to homeseer and am trying to interface with my alarm system as well. Any chance I can get the source code to play with too? I just happened to be looking at the Digi page as well! Also, I've been using this serial to ethernet converter very successfully. It uses virtual com port software so you can have multiple devices. http://www.usconverters.com/serial-e...verter-us2000a

      Also using one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o00_s00 lets you use a straight through serial cable (about $4 US) instead of whacking up a cable.

      Thanks!

      Bill

        Looks interesting. I have been looking for a replacement for the BC4 GPIO on HS3.

        This old post from Pete might help:

          I installed a PCIe comm port card and this plugin now works perfectly.

          I am moving my HS to a VM and so will have a look at getting it running remotely from the PC with the comm ports to the VM.

          As this thread has been dormant for a while - just thought I'd check if there have been any development.

            Hi, nothing has been changed in the plugin. It does what I need it to do so I've not worked on this in months, maybe year(s).

                I realise this is a very old thread.....but :-)
                I did eventually move my HS setup to a VM and am now trying to run the plugin remotely but with no success. I have everything setup as per the instructions but all I get is;

                Connecting to server at 192.168.1.15...
                Connected, waiting to be initialized...

                Has anybody any ideas how to make this work?
