    Blinds with controllers?????

So im kind of new to this and could use a little guidance. Im sure this is a stupid question for mini so if you could just help me out with some examples. Im looking to automate some blinds in my new home. I would have to use z-wave. Im having trouble figuring what battery operated motorized blinds will work with what battery operated controller.

      motorized rolling shutters

I know nothing about home automation, but a friend suggested I purchase HS control system to control the motorized rolling shutters on all the windows of my country house. They are controlled via a remote control. What do I need to control them using HS control system

        Blinds with controllers:reply

        hi,
i do what you want with my blinds.
i bought automotive vent motors from allelectronics.com $3.98 ea.
the roller blinds fit right into the shaft.
i control them with applied digital relay modules, an ocelot and lightbobcat.
they open and close according to outside light level, fully automatic.
i hav'ent pulled a blind down in about 5 years.
you will have to run some wiring, ask a friend to help you.
ocelot about $150, relay module about $80, lightbobcat about $70.
programming is not to hard to learn.
i really like homeseer as a frontend (gui).
but applied digital is rock solid, no worrys about malware or virius.
ocelot controls everything in my home, hvac, heating, lighting, security.
i think you should plan a system that works all the time, without internet access.
because if you are like the rest of us, you will keep adding and adding things to your system.
        hope this helps.
