Do I understood it correct that I need two cables if I want to use the Creston protocol and the simple protocol?

That is correct, two cables (and two ports). One for each protocol.

        Nicolai,

Did you implement support of the COMIP boards? If I look in the PI it seems that it could be configured. However if I have a look at the documentation it states that a serial interface is required.

No, for the reasons originally stated I won't be implementing support for COMIP. The IP option you see in the plug-in is via using a Serial to IP converter (like those supplied by Global Cache and many others).

I'm very excited about this plugin (as a new HomeSeer user), as I've been looking for something like this for ages.

So, I've got my Serial to WiFi kit in the post coming to me so I can integrate my Texecom alarm panel with HomeSeer, but have a question regarding the Crestron vs Simple Protocol. In your description of the Simple Protocol, you appear to mention two serial ports. Why is this necessary? Are you saying that if I want to use the Simple Protocol I have to have TWO serial to WiFi adapters? That seems incredibly over-kill, but I understand this is probably a requirement of the alarm panel rather than the plugin, but can you just confirm?

What will I NOT be able to do with the Crestron protocol vs the Simple Protocol?

              Thanks

              Hi Ian,

Apologies for replying to your old post, however I am in the process of replacing my existing Veritas panel and your setup sounds like just what I'm looking for.

My alarm control panel is in a remote area so I would not be able to run a cable between the panel and the HS PC. I was thinking about buying a panel (maybe the Texecom Premier Elite) and a WIFI interface that would sit on the same network as the HS PC. I need to be able to pick up the status of each detector sitting on the panel whenever there is a movement detected.

Can I ask what hardware and interface you are using and how it's working for you?

              Many thanks,

              Jay

As you can see it is working with their interface.

I know texecom support is very willing to help you.

                              Hej Claus

Not at present. That information would come through the simple protocol, but that has not been implemented to date. If I have time at a later stage I can look to add this in but can't make any promises as to when.

                                Hej Nicolai,

                                Thanks for the reply.

What program language is the plugin written in?
Will you share the source code?
