Ok great, about the connection it first try to send the command to your local ip if you have add it in tasker device.
Autoremote have a "wifi server interface" and if tasker plugin cannot connect it will use the cloud service instead which can take longer time.
I think you lose 1-10 seconds if the local ip not is responding.
Be sure that your android device wifi never go to sleep, it will drain your battery little bit more if you are running on battery.
You can troubleshoot with the ping command in console window ex from hs computer.
    ping 192.168.0.17 -t
Check if you get any Request timeout or if time is more than 2000ms, have the window open while you send the tasker command.

Ok pingtimes looks perfect, I can't say if it's a autoremote issue or android. If you are on Marshmallow, check also that both tasker and autoremote and if you are using a 3:rd part TTS engine does not have App power save, move these apps to Turned off.

These tablets are a bit older Samsung Tab 3s, they are on Android 4.4.2. I have tested a few times, sometimes they work as they should without delays, occasionally I have delays. So the event programming and the scripts must be ok. The issue is then probably the tablets. They do not have a lot of software installed, all they do is show my security cameras, and they are being used as speaker clients for HS3, that's it.
