Check out Jon00's remote control and network monitor it will allow you o do much more than just WOL but it works awesome in is a must have in my book for control of client machines

yeah i downloaded it and got it running on the server. Was hoping for something a little simpler and more drop in (at least for now). Spreading myself so thin on different goals I'm not getting as much done... I think I am going to focus on the Kinect VR branching choices. Two would pertain to the HTPC for now (wake up or go to sleep), some for XBMC, iTunes and lights/appliances. Maybe will even get specific automating room by room. Reginald is coming along though. I actually might message you for some guidance on occupancy stuff.

movies and scenes

This might be outside the realm of possibility but is it possible to play a movie or scene? I know I can add an event to play a movie but that's many events for all my movies. since the plugin already has a list of movies is there anyway to create one event that looks at that list? also maybe play a scene by time index?

I've been using this plugin with the Kinect plugin. it is sooo amazing. just played Old School simply by saying play old school. great movie!

It can play a playlist, you could put everything in one then have it play on shuffle. That's on my list of things to do also.

As "Play with" is not part of the XBMC API yet, I have to write a fix for the XBMC source code, I have to submit it, it needs to be approved and then merge in the next XBMC official release.
So it will take some time and it will only work with a future version of XBMC

here is an update:
good news is that a developer added the missing feature to the API.
bad news is that this enhancement will not be merged in the current XBMC version (Gotham). You will have to wait for version 14 (Helix)

I'm not a HSTouch specialist, but I think it's possible to display the player page (the one you can access from menu PLUG-INS > XBMC > Player Name) within a HSTouch page.

The other way to browse media libraries from HSTouch will be to use the new Media API, but it's not implemented yet, so I'm waiting for HST guys on this.

no sorry, not much news on the Media API front
I guess we have to wait for HST to release its first media plugin.
