Losing included devices every now and then. But why?

    Hi
I'm losing the relation between HS3 and the Z-wave device too often to be fun. Then I have to reset the device and and add it again. Then I have a phantom device, have to reassign the device to all events and such. Not fun.

Am I doing something wrong? I cant see that there should be anything wrong with my network as it works flawless between those intermittent hickups.

I'm using the Aeon Stick 2 with Aeon, Everspring, Fibaro and a few more brands.
Restoring HS from a full backup doesnt seem to help. When examining the sticks content all devices are there.

If the devices are still on the Z-Stick are they also still devices within HS3? If so the hardware itself has to be loosing their associations. I've seen reports of this about Fibaro devices doing this when they loose power or have a power glitch.

Yes, they are still in HS3 but they has gone ghosts and can't be updated or deleted. Sometimes their device type get changed. For example "binary switch" to "generic sensor" or something other totally unrelated. I can understand that power surges or such can mess up devices under certain circumstances but yesterday I lost one of my battery powerered motion sensors. This never occurred in HS2.

Are you running Z-Health or Optimizations a lot. None of these automated Z-Wave options should be set to automatically run or it can cause issues with your Z-Wave network with HS3.

I've just experience my first z-wave crash;where my z-wave became lost/hung, none of my devices and/or minimotes etc worked. It happen around 3:00 am this morning, my HS3 went off station (according to the last HS Log) also upon closer inspection of my logs I notice I had a fair number of z-wave warning messages. When I went to the HS3 host machine it had a warning message that HS3 needed to be shut down (nothing more). Being a good HA enthusiast I restarted my HS3 app and afterwards looked at my z-wave settings and noticed that I had two Network Friendly Name with identical names and Home Ids but the second network did not have any devices associated and had a warning message to the far right to delete it if it wasn't needed. Also when I looked at the Controller Node Information tab it was all blanks (no values). I deleted the second Network and restarted the z-wave PI which restored my devices and got me up and running (knock on wood). I had version 3.0.1.1.139 of the z-wave PI, I've just updated to version 3.0.1.1.144.

I did have Z-Health option selected (have deselected since) did not get the memo to not use z-health can someone point me the why? Mike

Gregory (@Rupp), In the event that ones z-wave stick goes kaput, is there a process to restore ones devices/events to a replacement z-wave stick? Also How and What does one backup/save to ensure that we are able to invoke a replacement z-wave stick process.
