    Omni IIe, X-10, Powerline Interface Module configuration

    I need some help. I have an Omni IIe board that uses the J7 port with a Poweline Interface Module to control various X-10 devices. I just bought and hooked up a HS Zee s2. Configuration went fine and everything was recognized (Zones, Units, Thermostats, etc), successfully configured Alexa for voice control , but I only have On/Off control over my X-10 units, no dimming capabilities. The X-10 units were recognized as Omni Units. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
    <o></o>
    What plug in/configuration do I need to get dimming capabilities of my X-10 devices?<o></o>
    <o></o>
    Thanks for the help.<o></o>

    Let me see what I can find out. My UPB modules do come over as dimmable devices, I just need to check that code on how it builds the X10 device.

      I have A1 chimes around the house and with the OP2 / PCA it just looks like a regular switch that dims.

      I see it in the plug in as a dimmable device too.

      Watching the Omni A1 Dim command with a CM11A in debug mode using the HS3 X10 plugin see the follow when I changed the DIM from 39% to 69%.

      OP2 ==> TW-523 A1 commands and HS3 X10 plugin with debug on using a CM11A.

        Thanks for the reply. I don't have a cm11a, just the power line interface plugged into the Omni Iie at J7. Everything works as it should in PC access, phone access, Haiku, Space. H@me, etc. My x-10 units just won't respond to dim/brighten commands in HS3. I can see the slider bar with the units, it just doesn't respond to the commands. Only on/off. I also don't have any other plug-ins installed other than the Omni plug-in.

          I misunderstood. You are saying that the slider *is* indeed on the control screen in HS? So, the module is just not responding to dims....

          If you dont mind, email me your logs where you attempted to dim your X10 device:

            I don't have email setup yet in the system yet. How else can I get the logs you need to e-mail you? Is it just the log file under view/log?

              Ok, I set up e-mail, and e-mailed you the Omni.log file. The file appears to be blank or I can't download it.

                Yeah, the file is definitely blank, which should never happen - there's always something in the logs.

                On the Zee S2, the logs are located in:
                /usr/local/HomeSeer/Logs folder and is called: OMNI.log

                Can you post a screenshot of the event you created to send me the logs?

                    Here had a look at the OmniLogs while dimming unit 1 - X10 - A1 and see:

                    10/18/2017 9:24:36 AM [2] [-->Unsolicited: Unit=[1] status=[126]/[LEVEL 26%] type=[1]]
                    10/18/2017 9:24:36 AM [2] [-->UNIT: desc=[] number=[1] name=[Chime]]

                    Relating to the OmniPro 2 X10 PIM here using Jeff Volp's dual phased TW-523 emulator XTB IIR. That said the HAI TW-523 on one phase works identically.

                    Curious if you see the same as above in the OmniLogs when you are dimming an X10 device.

                    I used the CM11A to check to see if there was a powerline command being sent from the TW-523 connected to the OmniPro 2.

                    The PCA test would be just to look at the status of the X10 device, right click on it and dim it.

                        Just for a sanity check, change the log file attachment from:
                        /usr/local/HomeSeer/Logs/OMNI.log
                        to
                        /usr/local/HomeSeer/Logs/HAI.log

                        Pete's log snippet was also helpful since it shows me what is being sent to the panel from the HS web page control. I'll be able to see whats going on and get an update asap.

                        Thanks

                            Shut down Homeseer and edit this file:

                            I am guessing that you are using Linux. SSH or WinSCP to your Linux box.
                            If using Windows then just use explorer and edit the Omni.ini file.

                            Homeseer ==> Config ==> Omni.ini so that it reads like this.

                            Note that I am skipping sections of the INI file here.

                            logToHomeseer=True
                            imageFileLocation=images/OMNI/
                            logmode=DEBUG
                            debugFile=Logs/omni.log

                            save the file.

                            Restart Homeseer and you should see an Omni debug log file.
