Has anyone found this document? Pinout for DB9 to RC80? I think I've worn out the search engine and finding only broken links. Any pointers would be appreciated.

DB9 to HAI RC80 Cable Info..

              Here's what I used to make a cable -

The RatShack connectors were a pain to work w/ but it
              worked

(See page 13 - last page) in doc for wiring info

Thx to wegienka who originally posted it -

I don't have a link anymore to the document with all the colors of the cable to the DB9. The first time I hooked up my Thermostat I used the Radio Shack connector. I thought I had a bad thermostat because the communication was quite flaky. I recently rewired my thermostat to an HAI rj11 to DB9 connector. This is the same connector used to program an HAI panel. It actually does all of the jumpers for you. You only have to figure out the correct order for the 4 wires from the thermostat. It took a little thinking and looking at the pinouts of the HAI adaptor but once I figured it out it worked great.

I'd ten times rather use an RJ11 or RJ45 connection than to use some finnicky serial end that you have to crimp up yourself.

Thank you both for the great info. I'll try both options on the first thermostat and go with the most reliable for the rest.

                  Thanks again!

                      Well done!

Nice work Ricks! Still not the original one I had found but it does have all the same information on it. A document such as this would have saved me alot of time (and headaches) when I first tried to hook up my rc 100's.

Whoever is in charge of sticky's.... Make it so!!!
