I searched the entire PC for the OCX file and it does not exist.
The zip file I downloaded from the mcsTemp V6 forum only contained an EXE file.
I ran updater and it shows me as having the newer version and only provides the option of going back to 6.0.7.
I have searched the forums for a file that contains the hspi_mcstemperature.ocx and could not find it.
        Help...I'm at a loss.
You are correct that the file is an ActiveX .exe rather than an .ocx. There should be exactly one on your computer and it should be in the same folder as homeseer.exe.

If you had success with V5 of mcsTemperature then that may be your best alternative. The other approach is to use some debug logic to isolate where the problem is. It is your choice on the direction you want to proceed.

Expression T2/1,7 on line 320 Syntaxisfout

          Hi,

I just installed version V6 from the updater and I got the error:

Expression T2/1,7 on line 320 Syntaxisfout (fout = Dutch and means error).

So I copied the 6.1.011 from this thread to the directory, same error.

          It occurs in bursts:

I reinstalled with the updater, no improvement. The plugin seems to work, I can't find any other problems.

Any ideas where this is coming from?

          Thanks in advance.

You have some temperature action or trigger setup that has an expression involving device code T2 and it looks like you are trying to divide by 1,6. If you recognize this then change it to 1.6. I actually think there is a setting for decimal replacement on the Interface page and the solution could also be achieved by identifying your decimal to be comma rather than period.

              Hi Michael,

The problem came when I upgraded from V5 to V6.
During installation I saw a message: unable to create object (or something of this kind). I looked for the ocx file as emntioned in this script, but I can't find it. I am using the HS 2.4.

I just use the basic Homeseer events, no scripting or dividing.

I reinstalled V5 again (without any configuration changes) and the error is gone.

              Thanks , regards Frank.

I see this in the change log

PR 648 6.1.1 Allow Calculations in "Cal/Bias" column

Look in the Cal/Bias column for T2. It looks as if it finding the number 1,6 in T2 and the scripting engine is throwing an error.

Am I correct in that T2 is used in the Cal/Bias column? If it is intentional then we need to see the DeviceString contents to understand why the scriping engine is complaining. The script control .ocx is required if expressions are used for Cal/Bias or Temperature Actions and Triggers.

                  No Bias used

                  Hi Michael,

If I look on the sensors page, nothing is filled in in the Bias column. It is just empty, this is the case for all sensors.

I use a file as input, nothing else, no ther sensors.

Is there anything I can try, to locate the error? Shall I send the config file?

                  Regards, Frank

The attached will write to the log where the expression is being evaluated. This will provide the next level of backtrace.

                      And the results:

                      Hi Michael,

Thanks for taking your time to make this version.

I have attached 2 files, one from the general homeseer log (test mcs log) and one from the mcstemp log. I hope this is sufficient. By the way at the time of this test the temperature is -5,6 C and -5,5 C and that is T2. Somehow it tries to divide T2/5,6.

The other temperature of 21,6 is probably T1 and I have one event where I compare the two. Not active by the way.

I reinstalled 5.2 and the problem is gone.

I hope this helps, please let me know if more is needed

                      regards, Frank

This is indicating that you have an Event defined with a trigger type supported by mcsTemperature using a delta criteria where the compare device is T2 and the upper limit is 1. When mcsTemperature goes to T2 it finds a value of -5,5 which is not a number per Microsoft's scripting expectation. In most places I did substitutions for the decimal. Here is one place I did not, but updated in the lastest V6.1.13 posting at the top of the board.

While I did update the software, it appears you did not think you had an event with a mcsTemperature trigger. If this is the case then you should review your events as there is one in there.

                          Problem solved

                          Hi Michael,

The error is gone. I have several events with MCSTemp in it, I removed the one you indicated and installed the last version (top of this thread).

                          Working fine again, as ever!

                          Thanks for your support,

                          regards, Frank.

                            XAPmcs needed?

                            Hi Michael!
I use mcs temperature for my 1Wire bus. This is connected via USB 9497R interface. On this IF there is 4 DS1820 (running well) and 1 DS 2408.
The DS 2408 cant controlled well, by HS, sometimes can be switched ON or off with diffrerent? delay. I tested 2408 with Maxim on line monitor, and went well.
My question is, shall I need to controll as relay the XAPmcs ( I use HS on 1 PC, with XP sp3) , or not. I tested both version, and I got same instabil result! On setup log the system see 2408, and seem to send well command to it, but I cant control (by manual) directly from HS. I dont see even on status line , if I send an ON command, to changing status to ON, neither OFF status.
What sell I do to reun it well?

Did you notice that there were corrections made in 6.1.11 for Ds2408 that are posted on the message board at the top of this thread that are not in the updater?

                                Thanks Michael for fast reply!

Yes I've read it, maybe it was my misunderstood. I thought, its corrected by v.14 ver :-).

So I not try to use it (2408) as relay now, but as a switch is works now?
Or any older mcs ver. could use for relay the 2408 ?

On next future this bug will be developed, can I hope?
