BLRF only liking onboard COM1 not usb or pci

    question...

Trying to go back and get my x10 working so just started with the basics..
since fresh install get working what I know works..

    anyway...
my issue which will lead to the question.

    I have a edgeport/4
    http://www.digi.com/products/usb-and...-hubs/edgeport

have (long story on com port numbers for another thread)
    port 1 Com35 - concord 4 alarm - functioning
    port 2 Com36 - ztroller - functioning
    port 3 Com37 - w800
    port 4 Com38 - ti103

so going down the line I got to the w800. Set it up and using a palm pad will not do anything. Turn logging on and nothing.

so I decide to throw the w800 on the onboard serial port (com1) - change in blrf to com1 and viola works. Ok palmpad button hit and log shows H2 On

Move w800 back to com37 - set blrf to 37 and still not working.
so thinking the com port is bad I moved it to 38, 35 and 36 no dice.

I have a 4 port SII PCI serial card so installed it, downloaded drivers.
Tried w800 on it and cant get it to go.

move back to COM1 onboard and all good.

I am clueless but one thing I do know is that Com1 opens... other ports don't.

could it be your plugin doesn't check that high of com ports?

if you notice every time I set the port in BLRF to something different... it will close said port (38, 40 etc)
but if I use Com1 then it will open it and if I change it to 35 then it shows com1 port closed....

What com port control type are you using on the options page in the plugin?
    Cheers,

whatever the default is. Weird thing is it will work on com1 but not on the high up coms. I know my fix maybe to figure out how to remove the old devices that are sucking up the com ports...

      work blocks my house...
      no cell service..

so I will check and post later.

The work around is to use Com1. it isnt used by anything else but I want to make sure there are no other problems...

dont want to reload my system but may have too... off to general pc topic to post a serial removal question...

Have you tried changing it to Serialport in the drop down to see if that helps at all. I also use Edgeports and have mine on Serialport right now. I did also try using a globalcache ip to serial device which I had used on HS2, but I kept having issues so I ended up just running another serial line instead and have been using that for months without any issues that I know of. I have 3 w800's running on BLRF right now and I think at least 2 of them are on the edgeport.

              Yes try SerialPort and save
Then restart HS3 just to get a clean start
