I ask because my router doesn't allow me to reserve or preassign DHCP device addresses. I'd love it if I could simply associate a MAC address to a device, and have it update something I could use to know the current IP address of a device and whether it's currently online..

Please let me know as I'd rather use UltraMon than switch to Blade's plug-in which does the above requested function. Nothing against Blade or their plug-ins, but I already put $ into a few Ultra plug-ins and want a somewhat common look-and-feel when working with the plug-ins I tend to use.
I see value in this. I'll check to see if this feature can be added ...

I added an option to each monitored device called Host Resolution. If MACAddr is selected then the IP address of the host will be determined based on the last ARP request. This feature will allow the plug-in to detect a change in IP address based on the host's MAC address.

There were a lot of changes needed to implement this feature. I'll test for the next day and will post an update when it has been released.

I'd like to have some more device type choice.
        • Audio/Video Receiver or just Receiver
        • Bluray player

          MAC address for IP resolution

When the "Use MAC address" option is selected, for devices that have IP address assigned by the DHCP server in their router, when the device goes off-line, there should no longer be an IP address associated with the device. As soon as the device is offline, the router is free to assign that IP address to another device.

I would like the device Squeezebox and Receiver (for networked audio components)

Well I guess if we're puttin' out wish list items in...

I'd like to see the addition of Device Types "AppleTV" and "GoogleTV"...or if general device types are preferred then maybe something like "IPTV" which would cover them both. I'd also love to see a device type for the much less common "SageTV Extender" or it's more general equivalent of "MediaExtender" which would cover this plus a bunch of other not-so-common hardware devices out there.

                Online/Offline timers
                Online [8:15:30:15]
                dd:hh:mm:sec

E-mail alerting option per device. If enabled send e-mail notification.
This can be done with events..but nicer if it can be done inside the plugin.

Colors: Online green offline red.. etc

                check time change

why does every plugin have to have it's own email notification functionality? why muddy up the plugin code to duplicate functionality already provided by HS events? am i missing something?

This can be simple checkbox else you have to create lot of extra events.
For every device you will need a one or have to use conditions and scripting to let know wich device is down.

Has thought to SNMP even been given? It would be nice to monitor a bit more in depth, such as disk space, memory usage, etc.

That will be great..WMI is for the most user more accessible.

Option "Do not Log this Device"

Some of the devices are creating so many log lines that you don't want to see it in them in the log.

                            Option: URL Monitoring

Would be great to have the ability to monitor specific URLs/ports both on the LAN and WAN

This is already built in. Just modify the HomeSeer device and select "Do not log commands from this device".

The ability to monitor TCP ports is already available. However, URL monitoring (requesting a web page) is not. I will add it to the feature requests.
