You do not have the I/O interface enabled in HomeSeer

Hi. Just starting to use the PLM Plugin-In with a 2413S PLM. When I go to the Config page for the plugin, the top says:

** You do not have the I/O interface enabled in HomeSeer **
Insteon functions are only available when the I/O interface is enabled.

** Unable to communicate with the Insteon powerline interface ***
Please make sure the interface is configured correctly and restart the plug-in.

I don't see any "I/O" interface under interfaces. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Here are the contents of the Insteon Error Report.log file:

is your com port still showing in the windows device manager under Ports?

is the com port on the hs setup/interface page is still correct?

Yes, I have COM ports in Device Manager. How do I know if the COM port in Interfaces is the right one? It defaults to COM4. If I change it to try each other one, do I have to restart the plugin each time, or just Save settings? To restart the plugin, do I Disable/Enable under interfaces?

i would recommend restarting hs after changing the com port on the Interfaces page. if the com port is a physical port on your motherboard, I guess is it would be com1 or com2. but try them all of course.

Thanks. It was the COM port but I hadn't been restarting HS each time it tried a different one. That was the solution.

I've been seeing this a lot over the past few days too.
I have unplugged and replugged the PLM, and reset HS, and it has come back each time.

Yesterday I did the "reset interface" after the above power cycle procedure, and thought I had it fixed.

Tonight, it is acting up again.

So, either PLM is getting flaky or the RS232 port on the HS3 box is getting flaky, in my opinion.

            Thoughts?

I use a program called Docklight to test insteon msgs with the plm and network. there is a freeware ver avail.

you might give it a try to see if the com port and plm are working with basic cmds

if you can install it on the box, create a simple cmd to send 02 60, and you should get back... the plm plm insteon id, device type and firmware

also try another rs232 device on the same serial port
