    *** Latest Insteon PLM Plug-in version 1.4.2 ***

    This should fix the issues with the KPLs. Please reread settings and links. There should be a 6/8 key option selection to adjust the kpl as necessary.

    see History thread for other changes
    http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=138815

    Please post any issues to this version on this thread.

      please use 1.4.2.

      i sometimes send interium builds (like 1.4.2.1) to people to help resolve very specific issues while i am working on the next release.

      hope this helps

        shall do

        thanks

        btw, my device list still shows two unkown devices:

        Access Point 2443 v2 Unknown Device Type 000B
        Ethernet Control Device Unknown Device Type 0310

        also noticed an issue installing new 8 key keypadlincs.
        Device Type: KeypadLinc V2 Dimmer
        Firmware Version: 36

        happened twice, so i think it's repeatable. i learned the new device. it was installed as a 6 key keypad. i changed it to 8. all then looked correct and everything worked ok best i could tell. however, the GroupLinkAddress list in the insteon.ini file stayed at 6. the added 2 buttons were not generated in the group with the other 6 and homeseer then complained on restart that the grouplinkaddress table was corrupted. i manually created the other two lines in the .ini file and all has been fine

        hope this helps

        thanks for your good work

          Steve,

          The APs don't need to be registered, hs doesn't need to know about them. The ethernet controller is not supported by the plugin. i would suggestion deleting them both from the plugin.

          please post the device section from the ini for one of these kpls. please annotate which entries you added

              Mark,

              Slick update. Greatly improved. Thanks!

              I am using the new functions and reporting to clean up my five year old Insteon network. One thing I don't see how to do is to get an already registered device to report its status to HomeSeer. Some of my devices has links that say "local control reporting to HomeSeer" while others don't. The ones that don't do not appear to update HomeSeer when the status is changed at the switch.

              I guess things really got messed up when my PLC took a dump a while back. Have had the PLM for awhile and it seemed to work OK. It appears that this problem (many unit affected) starting after updating to the new PlugIn... But could be wrong here... Would appreciate any advice on how to fix this problem.

              Thanks,

              Chris

                thanks. just use the btn 'program device for homeseer' to get it to report status back to hs. you'll need to visit each device to do this

                  Mark,

                  Thanks for the quick reply. I did that, but stll no link that says "local control reporting to HomeSeer". This process does create links that say "Outlet is controlled by HomeSeer using...".

                  I believe I tried al the functions you have added to the new plugin... Still thereare many units that are not reporting local control status... I even reset and reprogramed the interface...

                  Any other possibilities?

                    can you tell me the 4 digit devicetype code of the devices in question? these codes can be found in the insteon.ini withn ea dev section

                      mark,

                      Sorry it took a while, but I had to go through my 40+ devices to understand the scope of the problem.

                      I have 12 devices that are not reporting "Local Control". Here they a select few:

                      [Device 25] / DeviceID=07.AD.5F / DeviceName=PR Wall
                      DeviceLocation=DS / PollingInterval=0 / DeviceType=0107

                      [Device 20] / DeviceID=07.E5.3B / DeviceName=BerniLinc
                      DeviceLocation=LR / PollingInterval=0 / DeviceType=0109

                      [Device 21] / DeviceID=04.BA.81 / DeviceName=TV Wall Beam
                      DeviceLocation=LR / PollingInterval=0 / DeviceType=0100

                      [Device 2] / DeviceID=07.9F.8C / DeviceName=Garage Workbench
                      DeviceLocation=OS / PollingInterval=0 / DeviceType=020C

                      There are other strange things happening. BerniLinc is a KeyPadLinc and has no links in HS. Reprogramming or New Links takes a LONG time and the PlugIn does not report and error, but still no links. Other units result in CANNOT READ LINKS message.

                      I hope you can identify why i am getting this strange behavior. If it matters, I am having a problem with HS Touch also since installing the new plug-in....and my iPhone Interface...

                        can you turn on detailed debugging and try the reprogram for homeseer btn on one of the devices you are having problems with (but not the kpl)

                        then post the log

                            Other than the kpl devicetype, i think the other devices do not send their status back to hs. they are respond only devices. so they will only get one programmed link.

                            regarding the kpl, if it won't reprogram correct, delete if from the plugin, manually reset it, then add it back in.

                              Mark,

                              Thanks so much for all your time and effort reviewing my issues and working on the PlugIn. But I must respectfully disagree with you. I have had HS Touch since it first came out to monitor the house locally and remotely. It always correctly showed the status of my devices. Although I could have missed that a few devices that were not reporting their status when switched locally; the Garage Workbench (Device 2) ALWAYS reported its status. I know this because I have an X10 motion sensor to control this light. At times when I am hanging around the garage and don't move around, it turns off. A quick touch of the button on the side corrected this and I observed numerous times that HS Touch updated consistently.

                              Anyways, it appears I have something going on you can't explain. Is there a way to go back to the previous version of the Plug-In so I can get full functionality back?

                              One last hint that may be indicative of something going on. My HSTouch interface appears to work fine, but upon inspection exhibits a strange behavior. I have a HSTouch XML Project that has buttons for all my units. Clicking a button works, ie, the unit turns OFF, but the HS Touch does not refresh its status as OFF unless I minimize it, then maximize it. Then it always shows the correct status of the Unit.

                              PS - If you are inclined to look more closely at my system, i could give you a temporary password to my myhomeseer.com address. I'm sort of desperate to get this resolved...
