    as i suspected. two options
    1. shutdown hs and change protocol=2 then restart hs
    or
    2. delete the device the from plugin and register and check that protocol=2

    not sure why the protocol wasn't read correctly

      ok

      some progress. shutdown HS, made protocol change and restarted. plug in options are there now, similar to your sample. after updating the links and settings, they properly reflected the settings of the IOLinc.

      when i see the results of a poll, the device status is reflecting the state of the sensor input. however, the HS device, on the status page, still shows it off all the time. what might be causing this?

      btw, are there potentially other features that i'm not seeing for similar reasons? for example, i still don't see Insteon Actions (described in your feature list) anywhere. don't know where they are supposed to be

      thanks again

        Steve,
        please turn on detailed debugging and poll the iolinc and post the log entries captured during the poll event. maybe the iolinc is not responding as expected

        my iolinc is a little newer regarding firmware
        DeviceType=0700
        FirmwareVer=36

        the new insteon actions are avail from the Action dropdown when creating an Event

          ok

          solved that one. my problem. i had an event that was turning the HS device off after processing the "momentary" request.

          HS device now follows the status from the sensor

          looking good

          i'll let you know if anything new comes up

          thanks again

            Where's the "Easy" button when you need it? Glad you got it working.

              Steve,
              if you don't mind i would still like you to delete and register your iolinc with detailed debugging On.

              if you can do this, please post the log snippet of just the registration transaction

              i need to see if the older firmware unit is responding differently to the Protocol cmd.

                  steve, if you have access to your hs interface which it seems like you do you can register the iolinc. you don't need physical access to the iolinc.

                  go to the plugin 'manage devices' page, delete the device and then use the 'add device' to reregister it. you just need the insteon id to do this

                  i can wait until later if you prefer, no rush

                            your kpl was registered as an i1 but should be an i2 based on the firmware ver.

                            try the following

                            shutdown hs
                            change Protocol=1 to Protocol=2 in the kpl section of the insteon.ini
                            restart hs

                            the use the "reread settings and links" btn
