Insteon special trigger / status update

    Hi MNsandler !

Thx for the latest plugin updates, reliability seems to be improved on our office installation.

I have a new one for you here, very strange :

I want to use our exit keypadlincs to trigger an AWAY event that turns off selected devices and so on. Event actions are pretty basic and are mostly Device turn offs.

If I check the HALL Keypadlinc insteon reliabilityy, it shows 97% which is almost perfect. This keypadlinc is linked to homeseer and a couple other switchlincs and stuff and they all respond quickly and reliably.

The event trigger consists of an Insteon special trigger " transmit an ON comand" that's associated to button C on this particular keypad and there are no conditions.

When I press button "C" ( away ), it should run event AWAY_MODE but nothing happens in the log, seems like homeseer does not receive anything, therefore, not triggering the event.

What's strange is that on first motion in the morning, the HOME_MODE event that triggers fine on motion sends the AWAY button OFF command fine to the keypadlinc and AWAY button "C" turns off fine. That means the servers communicates fine to the keypadlinc but not the other way around.

This is annoying as INSTEON SPECIAL TRIGGERS offer much more options and control than simple device status. Altought in our problem, since homeseer does not receive any communication for the keypadlincs, device status does not work either.

Any insight on how to solve this one-way communication ( server -> keypadlinc ) problem ?

    Thx in advance !

    Insteon special trigger update

UPDATE : Polling works fine on the keypadlincs, it is really a matter of the keypadlincs not able to speak LIVE to the PLM plugin...

please try the 'program device for homeseer' btn on the device edit page from within the plugin. seems like a link is missing and may explain why hs isn't responding. if this doesn't correct the problem, please turn on detailed debugging and press a few kpl keys and see if anything is captured in the hs log. if so please post.

also, what version are you running

        Insteon special trigger update

        Hello again !

I have just tried to delete the LOCAL REPORTING TO HOMESEER links and re-do the PROGRAM FOR HOMESEER feature but still no inbound communication from swtich to server.

Here is log, it shows Insteon datas but these are mostly my staircase and office light triggered by a motion sensor.

Lemme know if you see anything suspect, I have renamed the buttons in their respective channel names, Im pretty sure it should not affect anything but who knows...

        Using version PLM PLUGIN 1.5.3.0
        Homeseer is Standard Edition 2.5.0.4

        Thx !

I see the issue..the KPL is sending 'group cleanup' msgs instead of 'group broadcast' msgs.

how new or old is this KPL (12.B9.18)?

            Insteon special trigger update

            Am I reading correctly ?

You have 32 internal Insteon device(s) registered in the system, 0 external device(s), and 0 group(s).
These devices and groups currently consume 0 link database entries in your interface.
You have 214 unused outbound link addresses out of 254 total available.

            Is this a problem ?

I would say a year maybe... Can I switch this protocol manually in any way ? I can change them in the worst case but it would be a time saver to do it on the software side.

              Thx !

Yes, How about trying the "Update Insteon Interface Address Database" btn on the config page. this will rewrite missing links in the PLM.

                      Insteon special trigger update

                      hi again Mn!
Ive done an interface reprogram but still nothing, the database consumes 0 links. what is also weird is that the on / load button from all the keypads shows in the unregistered devices with a different insteon adress. I know thw one in the registered device is the right one and i cant manually add the unregistered keypad adress, hs does not add it.

tried rebooting between all these tests. negative...
