    Ok, give this a try.

it will not attempt to restart the interface if a device doesn't respond. You can test this by doing a Test Comm on an offline device. The results should be 20 fails, but everything else should contine to work.

This version will attempt to restart the interface if excessive ACKs occur with the PLM or the serial port dies. You can test by disconnecting the serial cable, wait for the "attempting to restart the interface" msgs to start, and then reconnect the cable. the plugin should recover just fine with the 2413s. not so sure with the 2413u.

        x10

Not sure if this belongs here or not, but HomeSeer hasn't seen an X10 condition since February. Was hoping changing out the PLM would fix. X10 works (what little I have - mostly Ademco alarm interface and some virtual devices) but HomeSeer doesn't see any of it. Interface is enabled for both Insteon and X10. Any ideas on this one? No urgency at all

It may be that you have enough electrical noise to stop X10 from working, but not Insteon. The PLM doesn't work as well for X10 as some other X10 interfaces.

are you not seeing x10 msgs n the log from remote switches or are x10 triggers not firing (when x10 msgs are logged)?

Not seeing any X10 msgs in the log or device status changes and therefore, no X10 triggers are working. For example, when any door on the delayed zone of the alarm system opens after dark, if the hallway lights are not on, they are supposed to come on for 10 minutes.

I have very few X10 devices and they seem to be working fine other than the HomeSeer interface. Stopped suddenly in February after many years of reasonable functionality. This isn't worth spending a lot of time or thought on - I will be done with X10 as soon as the system seems to be stable enough to warrant investment in Insteon interface to the Ademco Vista.

                Weird

Made it for a couple of days. Came home to dark house tonight. HomeSeer had shut down for unknown reasons. Had to restart manually.

                  5/8/2012 6:50:53 PM ~!~Shutdown~!~Application shutdown at 5/8/2012 6:50:53 PM
looks like something or someone shutdown homeseer gracefully. But i don't see a log entry related to an event that would start the shutdown. would a user logoff shutdown hs. do you have other events to restart hs?

I don't think this problem is related to the Insteon plugin.

i think its time you turn on HS detailed debugging and see if you can capture what's happening. do the following:

Enter the following in the Control page/Immediate window, then click Execute
                  &hs.debugmode=255

this will generate lots of debug logs in the homeseer/Logs/debug folder. Hopefully it will capture the next incident

Later execute &hs.debugmode=0 to disable detailed logging.

No other events to start HomeSeer other than the PLM fail. I will try to set up the detailed debugging as you requested.

What about Microsoft updates that cause a reboot?

No auto updating allowed. Single use machine. Updates are manual. The machine isn't stopping or re-booting - only HomeSeer.

                            Thank you

In my set up, the Debug Logs folder is in the root HS2 directory. There are 10 sub-folders. Anyone in particular?

no check them all, just want to make sure the logging is working.
