    Dryer Complete automation

I have the aeotec Gen1 energy meter hooked up to one of the dryer power leads. I would like to make a notification so that when the Dryer finishes it sends a notification to our phones.

Problem is the dryer seems to sit around 6-9 watts all the time. So when its not running its still sitting at this wattage?

Probably is.... but that really shouldn't be a problem. If you assume that the dryer is on when drawing over (say) 12W and off when drawing less than 11W, you should be able to craft a workable event....

Unplug the drier to ensure 'zero' is 'zero'.

There may be an offset issue with your energy meter.

Our older Maytag dryer consumed about 7 watts even when off. Our new LG washer and dryer are 0 when off. For the dryer, my virtual device and two events worked with both. The dryer drum and blower motor draw enough constant energy that these simple events work.

Since the consumption for the washing machine varies with cycles, sometimes under 1 watt for up to a minute it takes four events and a timer.

Thanks these screenshots will help. I think the energy meter is off cause it reads some when the dryer is unplugged. But for the price I think it will work.
