Nexa magnetic switch RFXCOM range problem

Someone who has experienced that it is very poor coverage between NEXA LMST-606 magnetic switch and RFXCOM? The limit is at about 22 feet in completely open space.
I bought 20units and hope to cover the windows and doors, but unfortunately it does not work at all because of the small range. Any Ide to improve it?
Regards
Tonlof

I discovered that the range of four times over that If I had my finger or hand on the transmitter. So I took about 25cm copper wire and mount to the metal bracket on the negative battery pool and now seems to be very good range. Will continue to evaluate
